ABOUT ME
Hi there. I'm a feature writer and essayist based in Toronto. My work has appeared in Outside, The Atlantic, WIRED, Marie Claire, and elsewhere, and I'm a contributing editor at Toronto Life magazine. My stories have appeared in Best American Sportswriting, Best Canadian Sportswriting, and Best American Essays. I've won five National Magazine Awards, including in the best long-form feature writing and investigative reporting categories. I'm a former senior editor of The Walrus magazine, and began my career reporting from the Canadian Arctic. I teach longform narrative in the journalism departments at New York University and Carleton University. I write most often on crime, nature, feminism, and feelings. When I'm not writing, you can find me outside.
